Palma Virtuti Lodge No. 4187 was consecrated as only the fourth Masonic Lodge in Aldershot and Farnborough in 1921. It is a Daughter Lodge of Panmure Lodge No. 723.

It was founded by local shopkeepers, businessmen and local politicians, and takes its name from the latin motto of the Earl of Selbourne, whose son, The Rt. Hon. Roundell Cecil Palmer, Viscount Wolmer, was Aldershot’s Member of Parliament at that time.

Palma Virtuti’s first Worshipful Master was Arthur Herbert Smith, who also happened to be the first Mayor of the newly created municipal Aldershot Borough Council in 1921.

For its part, Palma Virtuti Lodge has endeavoured to mirror and serve the community as its founders had intended. Its members have come from all walks of life, including business, the law, banking, teaching, construction, security and retail.

The Lodge has always been a generous supporter of charity, both Masonic and local causes. It is very proud of its heritage and its achievements, and, as it looks forward to its Centenary in 2021, it faces the future with great confidence.

Palma Virtuti is a Masonic Lodge that operates under the constitution of the United Grand Lodge of England, and resides in the Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight. The Lodge is based at the Aldershot Masonic Centre, and meets on the third Wednesday of:
